famous footwear shoes
Micam is the most famous footwear event that presents the vastest international panorama of shoes fashion trends and it is organized in Milan on September and March.
Elegance, trends, informality and experimentation: these are the main themes of the most famous event regarding shoes, the top international showcase for footwear fashion trends, which has presented the collection for springs-summer 2005 in the halls of Fiera Milano from September 18 to 21
A keen desire for an upturn in the shoes business cycle was the dominating mood during Famous Footwear show in Fiera Milano from 18 to 21 September 2004.
A significant increase in the number of shoes exhibitors (especially from abroad) at the opening
of the Famous Footwear show - 1397 exhibitors (+7.5%) of which 341 from abroad (+47.6%) - was matched by an equally significant increase in the number of foreign visitors within a framework of an
increase in terms of overall attendance.
The total number of visitors who registered at the most Famous Footwear Shoes event was 35,948 as compared to the 35,113 who registered in September 2003 (+ 2.4%). The figure regarding foreign visitors is particularly interesting; 16,006 foreign visitors compared to 14,682 a year before, an
increase of 9%. Japan, France, the United Kingdom and Greece were the countries that showed most
interest inMicam , followed by Spain, Germany, Russia and the USA.
We can interpret these figures as a firm confirmation that buyers want to do their utmost, bringing into play all the resources the Shoes industry can muster. This is what famous footwear Italian producers are already doing; they invest their energies in the development of quality products and even greater innovation and, judging by what we saw at Micam, we must say they were rewarded by a huge number of trade visitors in what is a period of deep economic crisis.
The Micam’s results appear even more important when we consider the increase in the number of foreign visitors. The Famous Footwear show’s organizers hope that this increase will translate into tangible interest in shoes industry and real business opportunities that bring in orders and
trigger the reversal of the negative trend that has been tormenting us for too long.
The September Micam was full of interesting ancillary events. There were conferences and workshops devoted to Shoes exhibitors and to the Italian and international press. Monday 20 September at 12 p.m., in the Oceania Room, the Minister for lndustry, Antonio Marzano, gave a speech during a conference attended by the press and by ANCI's Executive Board. Again on Monday, at 3 p.m. there will be a Press conference for international journalists attending the Famous footwear show.
The Famous Footwear show Micam is not just a shoes business forum: on Sunday 19 September at the Alcatraz in Via Valtellina there was a great evening celebration, by invitation only. The evening started at 8 p.m., then at 10 p.m. a night of music begins with special guest star Max Pezzali, a leading name in the Italian music scene.
